The vision
When three Swedish founders set out to open a bakery in Brooklyn, they brought with them a strong vision: to revive the spirit of the Ferrane community ovens from 1980s Morocco-places where neighbors came together to bake, talk and share life.
Their concept also reflects a unique blend of cultures and personal roots, drawing inspiration from Skåne and Stockholm in Sweden, Eritrea and Morocco in North Africa and the vibrant energy of New York City itself.

Designing Ferrane
Our role as designers was to help shape that vision into a physical space translating ideas rooted in tradition, memory and migration into something contemporary, warm and honest.
Working from Sweden while the project took shape in New York, we relied on 360° visualizations, digital material boards, and countless conversations to bring the concept to life - over 1,000 miles away. It was a truly cross-continental process, reflecting the multicultural heart of the bakery itself.

Inspiration
The interior features Scandinavia-designed furniture paired with a rich mix of materials - brick tiles, warm wood, and subtle textures - that together create an inviting, grounded atmosphere, echoing the layered backgrounds of the founders and the communities that inspire them. We’re proud to have played a part in bringing that vision to life.
